  1. Tag the task with the results that have the mean and standard deviation you require.
  2. Choose the Tools|View statistics command.
  3. Note down the mean and standard deviation of each class.
  4. Click on the Return to Markbook button.
  5. Choose the New|Task command.
  6. Enter the task name.
  7. Enter the task maximum.
  8. Click the Create Task button.
  9. Choose the Edit|Calculation command.
  10. Select Standardise from the Calculation list.
  11. Select the task to standardise from the Tasks list.
  12. Click the Include button.
  13. Click the Classes button.
  14. Select a class in Calculation applied to list.
  15. Click the Remove button.
  16. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for each class, except the first one being given a mean and standard deviation.
  17. Click OK.
  18. Click the Options button.
  19. Enter the mean and standard deviation noted for this class from step 3.
  20. Click OK.
  21. Click OK.
  22. Choose the Edit|Calculation command.
  23. Click the Classes button.
  24. Select the class in the Calculation applied to list.
  25. Click the Remove button.
  26. Select the next class from the Classes list.
  27. Click the Include button.
  28. Click OK.
  29. Click the Options button.
  30. Enter the mean and standard deviation noted for this class from step 3.
  31. Click OK.
  32. Click on the Save Changes button.
  33. Repeat steps 22 to 32 for each class.

In doing these steps the Print|Statistics command could be used instead of steps 1 to 4 to print the mean and standard deviation for the task.

When applying a calculation to the same task more than once, note that SM-Marks Online stores only the most recent calculation. This means that if the raw in a class are changed then steps 23 to 33 will need to be repeated for that class.
