Counting the total number of each grade

The number of grades from A to E given to the students in a course needs to be available as part of the new reporting requirements in some case. The number of each grade allocated may not need to be on each report, but a summary does need to be available if requested. While your reporting system may be able to count the number of grades, SM-Marks Online can count the number of each grade given to the students as a group.

Continuing with the example above, you can get these totals, by doing this in SM-Marks Online.

  1. Tag the Overall Report Grade task which has the grades done in the previous set of steps.
  2. Choose the Tools|Count grades command.
  3. If you want to copy the totals into another application by selecting the text in the table and choosing the Edit|Copy command in your browser.

If you need to count the number of grades other than just the letters from A to E you can use the Tools|Count results command.

The Tools|Count results command is also useful for checking if there are any students that have results or entries that are outside of the expected range of values.
