How do I?

Import more than one markbook into SM-Marks Online?

The File|Import|Markbook command can import a single markbook each time the command is used. To import many markbooks a User Administrator can use the Import markbooks from zip file command.

  1. In the operating system make an zipped archive zip of all the markbooks to import.
  2. Close any open markbook.
  3. Click on the Other administration actions link.
  4. Click on the Import markbooks from zip file link.
  5. Click on the Browse (Choose File) button for the Markbook and select the file to import.
  6. Click the Import Markbooks button.
  7. Review the message and check that you have enough time to allow the import to finish.
  8. Click on the Start Import button to import the markbooks.

In step 1, the markbooks should not include the folder paths. In other words, do not compress the folder the markbooks are in, but instead directly select and compress all the markbooks to make the zip file.

After step 5, to put the markbooks into the archived list of SM-Marks Online, turn on Import as archived markbooks and enter the archive prefix. For more information about archives refer to the File Archive topic in the File menu reference section.

Once the import is finished, the status of each imported markbook is shown.

  • If a markbook with the same already exists in SM-Marks Online, it will not be imported. This is to prevent accidental overwriting of data. In this case you must rename the existing markbook, or rename the markbook you want to import before compressing it.
